The solution is to replace the spark plug wires, and if the plugs have not been replaced for a while this is good time to install a new set.
After running the car for a bit, the miss went away, and I checked the compression again and it was fine in all cylinders. Ive been driving it for a few days, and when i first start it, it has that misfire, but goes away after a few minutes of driving. The previous owner told me that the lower compression/misfire was caused by bad lifters.

Jul 14, 2018 · I agree ^ as above, it's Hyundai's problem don't make it yours. Limp mode won't let you get anywhere near 5000 rpm, 2500-3000 RPM tops. It's not the limp mode kicking in. It could be any number of things from a faulty pressure sensor regulator to a HPFP regulator going bad.
